Clothes Show Pictures

Sorry it has taken so long (I've been recovering from the seemingly unavoidable winter cold!), but as promised here are some pics from my time at The Clothes Show in Birmingham. It was a great experience, teaching hundreds of people to do our mini 'make & take' projects using Janome sewing machines and working alongside a fantastic team. I would love do it again.

The Clothes Show!

I won't be around for a few days as I'm off to Birmingham to work at The Clothes Show! I work part time for Ministry of Craft and am going as part of their team to work for Janome on their stand. We are doing 'Make and Take' sessions where people can try out a Janome sewing machine by completing a small project, such as making a mini tote bag or rose corsage. So if you happen to be going, drop by and say hello! It's going to be fun but full on! I will tell you all about it when I'm back. Have a good weekend!

Pattern People e book

The lovely design studio, Pattern People are putting together an e book about surface pattern design and I'm pleased to say that two of my designs (shown above) have been selected! The book should be launched sometime in January, so I'll let you know when it is available to download. It will be well worth a look.

New commission!

I've just started work on a very exciting commission for a private client! I'm illustrating all the stationary for their autumnal wedding and have been given quite an open brief, which is amazing. I'll keep you posted with my progress.

Crafty illustration!

I've just finished this commission for Ministry of Craft a great local Manchester business that offers a whole array of craft course's. This poster is to promote their up and coming Christmas 'craftathons', which will get you in the festive mood whilst handcrafting some wonderful xmas goodies. My signature black linear style has been injected with some bold and bright colour to reflect the fun feel of the xmas season and Ministry of Craft itself. Hope you like it!

Blush boutique

A 9am start, a five hour journey and one service stop later and we made it down to Battle ( a lovely little town near Hastings) for the opening of Blush, a gorgeous boutique a friend of mine has just opened after a lot of hard work. The empty shell has been transformed into a feminine, vintage wonderland with its exposed beams, parquet floor, mirrored furniture and floral wallpaper. Of course I indulged in plenty of shopping to show my support! I'm pleased to say I created some illustrations for the shop that I debuted last week and I hope to show in situe once I get some good photographs.

So, some images of my current work will shortly grace the pages of my new blog to get things really going. It's going to be an interesting journey....hopefully an exciting one! I hope you join me to see how it all goes...
